Apple Cranberry Crisp

Apple Cranberry Crisp

Nothing says fall like apples and cranberries. This classic comfort food is a delightfully warm dish that is the perfect end to a chilly fall evening. With a crunchy top and a soft middle, the textures combine perfectly with a punch of orange that adds some unique dimensions—especially topped with vanilla ice cream. If you have a GE Advantium Oven, the recipe comes with specific instructions for how to cook it just right. It’s time for fall…y’all!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups peeled, thinly sliced apples
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange rind
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup quick-cooking rolled oats, uncooked
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter

Directions

Combine apples, cranberries, ¾ cup brown sugar, water, orange juice, and orange rind; spoon into a 2-quart oblong or 8-in square baking dish.

Combine flour, ⅓ cup brown sugar, oats and cinnamon.

Cut in butter with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly; sprinkle over fruit.
