Greenery is the nomination for 2017.
According to Leatrice Eisman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, “Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose.”
Greenery is considered nature’s neutral color. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty of the natural world. This is why this color can be found in public spaces all around the world. It’s also an energizing color to incorporate into your décor through accent items or even an accent wall. This life-affirming shade is symbolic for the pursuit of personal passions and vitality and signals new beginnings for 2017.
